Peak Season and Chinese New Year
Book your transport as early as possible
Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, starts on 28 January 2017 and lasts 5-15 days, depending on location. During this period offices, ports, factories, and public services will be closed.
At the same time, it is very critical to book any cargo space from Far East due to reduced capacity and Peak Season. The increasing freight volume towards Chinese New Year has created an enormous pressure on the remaining capacity. We believe that this pressure has only just begun.
All prices are pushed by the airlines and shipping lines, and containers are monitored and selected based on the highest payment and profit to the supplier. This can result in cargo being offloaded and bookings being cancelled just before loading, in order to make room for better-paid goods.
To ensure delivery on time, we recommend all cargo from China and Far East to be booked as early as possible. At LEMAN we will of course do our best to minimize both delays and increased rates for our customers.
